In Ukraine, almost no feast is complete without potatoes, in various forms. So, why does this recipe belong to British cuisine? It should probably be mentioned that this product came to Europe from America – a British colony. Therefore, potatoes appeared much earlier in British cuisine.

What you will need and how to cook fried potatoes with garlic
The ingredients for this dish are almost always in the kitchen of any housewife:
- potato;
- garlic;
- spices;
- oil.
In order for the dish to turn out to be fried on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the potatoes must be pre-boiled for 5 minutes. Drain the water, shake the colander several times so that the potatoes become a little plump, and fry them in a pan with oil.
It is important not to add garlic during the cooking process, but when the dish is ready. And at least half a minute after you turned off the fire. If you add it in the process, it will burn and give an unpleasant sour taste.

Fry potatoes, what could be easier? This recipe gives you delicious little cubes of crispy roast potatoes that are fluffy on the inside and have a hint of garlic.
Ingredients
- Oil – 120 ml.
- Potatoes – 700 gr.
- Salt – ½ tsp.
- Black pepper – ½ tsp.
- Garlic – 1 clove (large)
Instructions
Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into cubes.
Place the sliced potatoes in a pan of cold water. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and drain the water.
Carefully shake the colander a few times so that the potatoes loosen slightly.
Heat the oil over high heat in a large skillet. Place the potatoes in the pan and cook over high heat, turning often, until lightly browned. About 5 minutes.
Then add salt and pepper and cook again, turning typically, for another 5 minutes until golden brown.
Turn off the heat, let cool for 30 seconds*, then squeeze the garlic into the pan.
Stir so that the potatoes absorb the aroma of the garlic, remove from the heat and serve.
